Abra Freeze Protection is a function that turns off the water supply if the temperature becomes too low. You can decide the temperature for when this happens (We recommend 10 degrees Celsius). You also have the option to select the WaterSensor+ units to monitor the temperature. This feature needs to be activated in the Abralife app to function. This is done on the Water Leak System page in the app, described more in details below.
NB! Although the water supply is turned off when the temperature is too low, it's important to drain the pipes to prevent further damage. This can be done by opening all faucets and letting the water flow until it is completely drained from the pipes. You can read more about frozen pipe prevention here (norwegian article)
Activation and Configuration of Freeze Protection
Freeze Protection is activating by clicking the Water Leak tile on the home screen. Here, you will find the Freeze Protection panel. Activate Freeze Protection by clicking the button at the top right of the panel, and you will be directed to a configuration page. On this page, you can set the temperature at which Freeze Protection is triggered and choose which WaterSensor+ units that will monitor the temperature. You can select all your WaterSensor+ units by clicking 'Select all', or just click the ones you want to measure the temperature. Click Save to activate Freeze Protection.
When Freeze Protection is activated, the button at the top right of the Freeze Protection panel will change color and position. You can modify the temperature at which Freeze Protection is triggered and select the WaterSensor+ units to measure the temperature by clicking Configure on the Freeze Protection panel. You can deactivate Freeze Protection by clicking the button at the top right of the Freeze Protection panel.
