To ensure a fully operational system, all tests must be completed as described below by the installer before use. The system owner must then perform the test minimum twice per year to ensure a fully functional system.
NB! After the system has been tested, thorough training must be provided to the homeowner/user.
Simple valve test
- Press and hold the Linkbox+ button for 3 seconds
- Ensure the valve closes and water supply stops
- Press and hold the Linkbox+ button for 3 seconds
- Ensure the valve opens and water supply returns
Testing Sensor Tape connected to Linkbox+
This test is only relevant if Sensor Tape is connected directly to Linkbox.
- Open a tap and let the water run (e.g. kitchen sink)
- With a wet cloth, moisten one of the sensor points on the Sensor Tape
- Ensure that:
- Valve closes
- Water stops running
- The Linkbox provides an audible alarm
- The linkbox waterdrop LED lights red
- A push notification in the Abralife mobile application appears (If app is used)
- Click the Linkbox+ button (< 1 second) to mute the alarm
- Carefully dry off the moistened sensor point
- Press and hold the linkbox+ button for 3 seconds to reset the system and open the valve
- Ensure that:
- Valve opens
- Water starts running
- The Linkbox waterdrop LED lights green
- A push notification in the Abralife mobile application appears
Testing Wireless Sensors
This test is only relevant if one or more wireless sensors are connected to the system
NB! Do not apply excessive water to the device when turned upside-down, as the IPx4 water ingress protection is only valid when the sensor is oriented with the probes facing down.
- Open a tap and let the water run (e.g. kitchen sink)
- With a wet cloth, moisten one of the sensor points on the sensor:
- If sensor is mounted in bracket with Sensor Tape, moisten one of the sensor points on the connected Sensor Tape.
- If sensor is mounted in bracket without Sensor Tape, moisten one of the two pairs of water detection probes on back of the bracket
- If no bracket/sensor tape is used, moisten one of the two pairs of water detection probes on back of the sensor (see picture below)
- Ensure that:
- Valve closes
- Water stops running
- The Linkbox provides an audible alarm
- The linkbox waterdrop LED lights red
- The affected sensor provides an audible alarm
- The affected sensor waterdrop LED lights red
- A push notification in the Abralife mobile application appears (if app is used)
- Click the Linkbox+ button (< 1 second) to mute the alarm
- Carefully dry off the moistened sensor point
- Press and hold the Linkbox+ button for 3 seconds to reset the system and open the valve
- Ensure that:
- Valve opens
- Water starts running
- The Linkbox and sensor audible alarms stop
- The Linkbox and sensor waterdrop LEDs light green
- A push notification in the Abralife mobile application appears
- Repeat this test for each Watersensor+ installed
Testing valve control with Abralife app (Optional)
The Abralife app can be used to remotely open and close the valve (assuming the Linkbox+ is online and added to a home).
In the Overview section of the app, click the water leakage tile (a1) or the valve widget (b1). Click the valve button (a2 / b2) to close the valve. Ensure the valve and the water supply closes. Repeat to open the valve and restore the water supply.
