This article explains how fire alarm functionality works in the Abralife app for private homes. You’ll learn what the system looks like when everything is OK, what happens when the alarm is triggered, and how to silence the alarm sound directly on the smoke detector.
Fire alarm system overview
You can view your smoke detectors by tapping the Fire tile on the home screen.
Here you'll see the status of your fire alarm system. If everything is OK, it will display “OK”.
When you open the Fire tile, you’ll see a list of the smoke detectors installed in your home.
For each smoke detector, you’ll see:
- Room location (e.g. “Office”)
- Battery status (e.g. “99%”)
- Last test date – Read more here: Testing your smoke detectors in private homes
If all detectors are functioning and have sufficient battery, the screen will show "All systems OK" with a green circle.
Fire alarm in the app
When a smoke detector detects smoke, the app will enter alarm mode. A red alert appears at the top of the home screen, and the Fire tile changes to red and shows status "Alarm".
View alarm details
Tap “Open” or the Fire tile to see which smoke detector(s) triggered the alarm. Detectors that detected smoke are marked with a red “Alarm” label.
How is the alarm stopped?
The alarm will stop automatically once no smoke is detected by any smoke detector. It is not possible to stop the alarm via the app.
If this is a collective alarm (shared building alert), different rules apply. See this article on collective fire alarms.
