What is Enova support for energy management?

Enova support for energy management helps households reduce their electricity consumption by offering financial support for smart power management systems. The support covers 35% of the cost of products and installation, up to NOK 10,000, for energy management systems that control electricity consumption based on real-time data on consumption and electricity prices.

The largest energy stores in the home are the hot water tank, heating cables and electric cars. The system makes it possible to store energy by:

• Heat the water in the hot water tank when electricity is cheap. The hot water tank then acts as a battery that stores the heat for several hours, so you still have plenty of hot water when you shower.
• Heating the electric heating cables when electricity is cheap. Heating cables in concrete floors and hydronic underfloor heating store the heat for several hours without it getting cold.
• Charge the electric car when the electricity price is low, and the home otherwise has a low electricity consumption.

With a price- and power-controlled energy storage system, the electricity consumption is "energy storage", precisely because it stores energy. This means that you can move the use of energy throughout the day without compromising the comfort of your home.

What does a price- and power-controlled energy storage system consist of?

Such a system consists of four important elements

• HAN port adapter that measures power consumption in real time
• A control centre that coordinates and controls power consumption
• Two or more control units
• Two or more energy storage facilities

Requirements for receiving Enova support

In order to receive Enova support for price- and power-controlled energy storage systems in homes, the following requirements must be met:

1. Management system: Must include a control center that controls multiple energy sources automatically based on electricity prices and total electricity consumption.
   
   
2. Main Current Meter with HAN Port: Information about the home's electricity consumption must be sent to the control system.
   
   
3. At least two control units and energy storage units: A minimum of two of the following control units in combination with energy storage.
   • Smart relay for use on water heater
   • Smart thermostat for controlling electric or hydronic underfloor heating
   • Smart EV charger for EV charging
     
     
4. Professional installation: Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified professional.

Abra's solution for getting Enova support

At the heart of the Abra system is Linkbox+, which acts as a control center for energy management in your home.

The Linkbox+ connects wirelessly to your electricity meter through a HAN port adapter and controls energy usage automatically, reducing power consumption when prices are high. Abra can control multiple energy sources, such as hot water tanks, EV chargers and underfloor heating, to optimize consumption.

Water heater control

By connecting a smart relay to your water heater, the heater can be controlled by Abra via Linkbox+. You can use Elko VVB Puck or Abra Powermate+, both of which can be ordered in the Abra Online Store.

How to apply for support

1. Order the Enova package in the Abra Shop webshop
2. Installation is automatically booked with one of our professional installation partners at check-out in the webshop.
3. Documentation necessary to obtain Enova support is sent by email after installation; a system statement from Abra describing how the Abra system qualifies for Enova support, as well as an invoice documenting which products have been purchased for energy management.
