Installation
Placement
The motion sensor is designed to be mounted either on a wall, ceiling, or in a corner using a bracket. For optimal performance, the sensor should be placed indoors at temperatures between 16-50°C. The detection angle of the sensor should be 45 degrees from above, the sides, and below. The sensor should be placed in a location that provides an unobstructed view of the area you wish to monitor. Some precautions include avoiding mounting the sensor near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
Mounting and Installation Procedure
To begin the installation, open the unit's cover by pressing the latch mechanism at the top. Insert the supplied batteries into the unit. Once the batteries are in place, close the cover gently. The sensor will now go into pairing mode, indicated by the red LED flashing.
For additional information about mounting, see Frient's product information.
Add a Motion Sensor in the Abralife App
From the home screen, tap on the "+" icon located in the upper right corner. Next, select "Add Device" from the dropdown menu that appears. Choose the "Motion Sensor" type. Then click on "Frient Motion Sensor" from the list of available devices. Finally, follow the step-by-step instructions displayed in the app to complete the installation.
Using the Product
The motion sensor is designed to detect movement in a specified area. It will notify you when it detects motion.
Function Test
To ensure that the motion sensor is correctly placed and functioning as intended, you can perform a simple function test. Move into the area the sensor is monitoring and observe if the green LED on the motion sensor flashes. This will confirm that the sensor is active and working as it should. The LED is marked with an arrow in the illustration below.
LED Indicators
The sensor uses LED indicators to give you visual feedback on the unit's status. A green flash indicates that the sensor has detected motion and is working correctly. Red flashes every second for an extended period signal that the device is in pairing mode. Two consecutive red flashes every 60 seconds are a low-battery warning, indicating it's time to change the batteries.
Troubleshooting
If the motion sensor doesn't respond when there is movement in the monitored area, it may be a sign of depleted batteries. You should replace the batteries if this is the case.
Resetting or Restoring Factory Settings
To reset the device, follow these steps. Open the cover, and hold the reset button down for approximately 14-16 seconds. During the reset, the LED will flash, and once the button is released, the reset will be complete. The reset button is marked with an arrow in the illustration below.
