Installation
Placement
When mounting the entry sensor and the magnet, it's important to ensure that the magnet is placed no more than 5 mm from the arrow on the sensor. This will contribute to accurate and reliable functioning. The entry sensor should be mounted on the door or window frame to protect it from strong vibrations. Furthermore, the entry sensor and magnet should be mounted on the opposite side of the hinge point to ensure correct functioning during the opening and closing of doors and windows.
Mounting and Installation Procedure
To begin the installation, open the device's cover by pressing on the fastening mechanism on the top. Place the included batteries into the device. Once the batteries are in place, close the cover gently. The entry sensor will now enter pairing mode, indicated by the red LED blinking.
For additional information about mounting, see Frient's product information.
Add an Entry Sensor in the Abralife App
From the home screen, tap on the "+" icon located in the upper right corner. Next, select "Add Device" from the dropdown menu that appears. Choose the "Entry Sensor" type. Then click on the specific brand and model of the entry sensor from the list of available devices. Finally, follow the step-by-step instructions displayed in the app to complete the installation.
Use of the Product
The entry sensor is designed to detect the opening and closing of doors and windows. It alerts you when a door or window is opened or closed.
Function Test
To ensure that the entry sensor and magnet are correctly positioned, you can perform a simple function test. Open and close the door or window, and observe if the green LED on the entry sensor blinks. This will confirm that the sensor is active and functioning as it should. The LED is marked with an arrow in the illustration below.
LED Indicators
The entry sensor uses LED indicators to give you visual feedback about the device's condition. A green blink indicates correct movement of the sensor and the magnet. A red blink every second for an extended period indicates that the device is in pairing mode. Two consecutive red blinks every 60 seconds is a low-battery warning and indicates that it's time to replace the batteries.
Troubleshooting
If the entry sensor doesn't respond when the window or door is opened, it could be a sign of a depleted battery. You should replace the batteries if this is the case.
Resetting or Restoring Factory Settings
To reset the device, follow these steps. Hold down the reset button for approximately 14-16 seconds. During the reset, the LED will blink, and when the button is released, the reset will be completed. The reset button is marked with an arrow in the illustration below.
