During an alarm event:
-
Identify the alarm: Open your Abralife app and navigate to the "Areas" section. You will find the device listed under the specific area it is assigned to.
-
Verify the cause: If you can confirm that there's no fire or smoke, it might be a false alarm. Dust, humidity, or steam from a bathroom or kitchen can often trigger these.
-
Hush the alarm: To stop the alarm, press the "Test/Hush" button located on the smoke detector itself. This will put the detector in hush mode for 10 minutes, during which it will not detect smoke or high temperature.
If multiple devices are sounding an alarm, you will need to manually hush each one.
NOTE: Wait for 10 minutes before performing any test to avoid malfunctioning of the device. Once the device is set to Hush Mode the status can be checked in the Abralife app.
Temporarily Disabling Smoke Detection
- Physically disable the smoke detection: To temporarily disable smoke detection, you will need to press the "Test/Hush" button once on the smoke detector itself when it is in Standby mode. The device will not detect smoke for the next 10 minutes.
NOTE: Even when smoke detection is disabled, the temperature sensor remains active.
If the problem persists after addressing a potential cause (e.g., cleaning a dusty detector, ventilating a humid or steam-filled room), please contact Abralife support through the app for further assistance.
Always remember, safety is our top priority. If there's any sign of a fire, leave your home immediately and call your local fire department.
